Arrival – Departure
Caravans, RVs, and Tents: Arrival 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Departure 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Cabins: Arrival 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Departure 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. For other arrival/departure times, please contact the reception during opening hours.
Prices
All prices are listed in DKK, including VAT.
Payment
Online payment with debit/credit cards: We accept Visa, Visa/Dankort, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Mastercard Direct, Maestro. Your payment receipt and confirmation email serve as proof of the rental agreement.
Cleaning
Upon departure, both the cabin and its inventory must be returned in the same condition as upon arrival. This means the DKK 500 deposit will not be refunded if cleaning has not been done. You can borrow a cleaning kit from the reception. Important: Remove food from the refrigerator.
Damages
The renter is responsible for damages caused to the camping cabin and its inventory. Damages must be reported immediately to ÆRØ STRAND for settlement before departure. ÆRØ STRAND assumes no responsibility for pests (ants, insects, earwigs, wasps, etc.) in or near the camping cabin. ÆRØ STRAND assumes no responsibility for sudden damages such as installation failures and breakages, etc., but will ensure that the damage is repaired as quickly as possible.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours on the premises are between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
Complaints
Complaints must be made as soon as possible and no later than 2 hours after arrival. Complaints made later (e.g., after departure from the camping cabin) will not be acknowledged. In such cases, the renter cannot claim compensation, price reduction, or partial refund of the rent.
Cancellation
Booking of the rental unit is binding. It is possible to purchase cancellation protection for DKK 575, which allows cancellation up to 8 days before arrival. Cancellation of the rental unit must be made in writing via email.
Fire
All open fires on the premises are prohibited.
Smoking Policy
All cabins and indoor areas are smoke-free.
Disputes
Any disagreement between ÆRØ STRAND and the renter will be settled according to the general rules of Danish law. Questions can only be brought before the court in Svendborg (the campsite’s jurisdiction), which has been agreed upon as the venue.
Privacy Policy
ÆRØ STRAND understands and respects the importance of privacy on the internet. The business will not disclose customer/user information to third parties unless it is necessary to complete a transaction. The business will not give or sell your personal data to any third party.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the reception/shop open?
Our reception is open daily from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM and again from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
What languages are spoken at the reception?
We speak Danish, English, and German.
Is it allowed to attach protective covers?
Canvas covers are generally allowed, but tents and caravans must still be movable.
Waste disposal?
You can find our waste containers by the reception.
There is a recycling center 2.5 miles (4 km) from ÆRØ STRAND. Husmarken 2A, 5970 Ærøskøbing, www.aeroekommune.dk
How should tents, caravans, and RVs be placed?
Tents and caravans must be placed so they can be easily moved. Remember to keep 10 feet (3 m) distance from your neighbor.
Are boats allowed to be parked in the tent area?
No. Boats must be kept in the parking lot by the road to the left of the reception (towards the water).
How much distance should there be between caravans and tents?
There must be a distance of 10 feet (3 m).
Is a valid gas inspection required?
Yes. All caravans must have a valid gas inspection.
Are pets allowed?
You are welcome to bring your smaller pets, as long as they are kept on a leash when on the premises.
Is the campsite open all year?
Yes, the campsite is open all year.
Do you have a playground?
Yes, we have a large playground that was built in 2020.
What sports facilities do you have?
We have an activity room with foosball and outdoor table tennis. And a lawn with soccer goals.
Can we park the car if we want to explore the island?
Yes, you can park with us if, for example, you want to explore the island by kayak or hike for a few days.
The price is DKK 75 per day.
Are extra people allowed?
Cabins may only be occupied by the number of people they are designed for.
Is grilling allowed at the campsite?
We have a grilling area with a view of the water near the kitchen.
Is there Wi-Fi at the campsite?
We have free Wi-Fi available at the campsite.
Do we need to bring our own bed linen?
You can bring your own bed linen, towels, and dishcloths. Or you can rent them from us.
How far is the beach?
The beach is 164 feet (50 m) from the campsite.
Is the campsite handicap-friendly?
The campsite has grass and gravel paths. We have a handicap-accessible toilet and shower. There is no step-free access to the cabins.
We forgot something at your place, what do we do?
Send us an email or call our reception if you forgot something with us. After 4 weeks, lost items will be discarded.
Is it possible to rent bicycles from you?
No, but you can rent bicycles in Ærøskøbing.
I am a member of the Danish Camping Union (DCU), do I get a discount?
No, there is no discount agreement between ÆRØ STRAND and the Danish Camping Union.
